Walking
The area is ideal for anyone wishing to don the hiking boots, or for the casual walker. The GR7 long distance footpath runs up the hill behind the village and then on to Lanjaron. There are countless paths and tracks that run through woods, forests and beside streams. For anyone who is wary of venturing into the hills in a strange country I can recommend Alan, who lives in the next village of Niguelas, he can arrange to take you on a walk suitable for your level of experience. There are two golf courses in the area, an 18 hole course in Las Gabias 8 km southwest of Granada, it has a restaurantand social club. and there is a 9 hole course near the beach near Salobrena suitable for a knockabout, it has a bar and restaurant attached.

The Ski resort of Sol y Nieve is only about 50 minutes away in the Sierra Nevada mountains where you can generally ski up to Easter. Equipment can be hired there or you can arrange it through Bob and Githa in Niguelas further details at
